Analysis

Analysis allows the calculation of truss systems and suspensions directly from a drawing. The aim is to provide the technical planner of an event or trade show stand with the most accurate possible static assessment of the system at any time during the project's lifetime.

Analysis works with the drawing data of the other AutoSTAGE modules. Thus, the effort to create a static system and its development and refinement is minimal.

Increase your efficiency and profitability with the use of Analysis. With the one-click static of Analysis, extensive static calculations are made directly from the CAD drawing with minimal effort. Calculations resulting from Analysis can be used as structural evidence and load assumptions.

Advantages of Analysis

  • Time savings in the planning phase of your project through integration of the static calculation into the system
  • Standardised calculations
  • More detailed calculation protocol for communication and documentation
  • Simple workflow, even for non-engineers
  • Avoidance of incorrect entries and incorrect assumptions

Seamless Integration

Analysis seamlessly integrates with AutoSTAGE 2020, AutoSTAGE App and AutoCAD®. In the 2D work area the workloads of structural supports such as suspension points, motors and drops are quickly and easily visible via a clear color mark. In the 3D workspace, internal force diagrams are displayed. This is how the truss utilization can be evaluated.

Support of Static Elements

The following cases can be modelled by Analysis:

  • Connecting joints of trusses within the xy-plane
  • Suspension of trusses from trusses
  • Applied trusses
  • Applied pipes
  • Rigid joints of pipes
  • Suspension points
  • Motors
  • Loads from lighting
  • Loads from video
  • Loads from audio
  • Generic loads as point loads
  • Generic linear loads
  • Loads from cable

Currently elevated systems, such as ground supports, can not be calculated.

Display of Output

The results of the static calculation are shown in the drawing. This makes a plausibility check quick and easy. System error, eg. due to a faulty construction, are marked with pointers. Occurring loads are displayed on suspension points and motors.

The calculation results of Analysis are displayed in both, 2D and 3D views. In the 2D plan view, the values of the maximum internal force and deformations are displayed. In addition, for each suspension point and motor, the structural support load and working load appears in the text box.

The 3D representation shows all reactions and deformations by section. In this view, the static system can be checked for plausibility.

System Checks

Before calculations occur every static system will be checked for common faults by Analysis with the SystemChecker.

Calculation Report

The calculation report documents the result of the calculation as a log. All information required to verify the calculation is included in the calculation report. The calculation report is generated in PDF. This documents the underlying framework as well as the evidence of the limit load capacity and usability.

The documented information includes:

  • general information
  • safety factors
  • loads considered
  • proof load calculation
  • used cross sections
  • information about the applying framework

Settings

Before calculating with Analysis, a number of calculation settings can be adjusted as needed. For example, by freely selecting the sectional safety factors, the calculation can be carried out in accordance with EUROCODE 9 or DIN 4113.

Smart Overview - Summary

In the summary Analysis provides a quick overview of the calculated system. For both suspensions and individual types of trusses, a percentage utilization is specified.

Technical Basics

Analysis uses the 3D framework program ThreeDFrame to calculate the static data of a system. A connection to other framework programs, such. B. RSTAB, is in preparation. ThreeDFrame and RSTAB are not part of Analysis and must be purchased separately.
